Yorkeys Knob BeachYorkeys Knob is one of Cairns' best beaches. Named after the rocky headland that rises 100 metres above sea-level, Yorkeys Knob has a wide open beach filled with golden sands and fringed with tropical palm trees.

This small coastal community is a part of Cairns city. Home to Half Moon Bay Marina and Golf Course, Yorkeys Knob Boating Club, restaurants, cafes, a hair dresser, shopping centre, bottle shop, bakery, newsagency, real estate, car rental and post office, Yorkeys Knob is completely self sufficient for residents and visitors alike.

Yorkeys Knob Marina Half Moon Bay Marina and its Yorkeys Knob Boating Club are arguably the heart of this suburb. Constructed in 1994, Half Moon Bay Marina has 200 berths, ranging in size from 10-30m, with weekly, monthly and annual rentals available. The marina is pontoon-style, supplying water and power to all berths through Comsen units.

Yorkeys Yorkeys Knob Boating Club is a popular place for locals and residents to enjoy drinks on the undercover deck, overlooking the Coral Sea. Capable of seating up to 1,000 guests, Yorkeys Knob Boating Club is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is an undercover play area for children, a licensed bar, EFTPOS, courtesy coach, electronic poker machines, KENO, televisions, pool tables and indoor and outdoor dining.

Another popular Yorkeys Knob restaurant is Krokodillos, which is the locals' favourite. The combination of relaxed tropical dining, friendly service and a fantastic menu and cocktail list, make this a must do on any visit to Cairns and Yorkeys Knob. Located on Varley Street, Krokodillos has steak, seafood, pasta, pizza, stir-frys and a whole lot more.

Yorkeys Knob Golf Yorkeys Knob is also home to the Half Moon Bay Golf Club, with a tight par 70 all-weather-course overlooking the Coral Sea and surrounded by rainforest clad mountains. Although the club is membership based, visitors are most welcome.

Facing the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef, Yorkeys Knob beach receives strong south-east trade winds between April and November, making it the best beach in Cairns for wind and kite surfing.
