Cobbold Gorge Needed A New Website & Then Social Services

Cobbold Gorge Tours and Accommodation already had a website when they approached RJ New Designs. It was an older site, outdated in its appearance and functionality. They wanted a new design and website, which would be easy to edit and integrate with an external booking provider. No problem! We love working on tourism websites and we’re all really proud of the great new Cobbold Gorge website, which went live back in 2018 and still looks great today! In 2022 they asked if we could provide social media services and we’ve been doing it since then. Proud to be their trusted online team.

Cobbold Gorge Tours and Accommodation are a multi award winning tourism attraction, located a 6 hour drive from Cairns and Townsville, in the Etheridge Shire. We had heard of them, but had never been there. Working on their website provided a great opportunity to head south-west and explore a bit more of our great state. So, will we come to you, when building your website? Yes we will! Not only does it provide us with an invaluable insight into your property and product, it also gives us the chance to take a range of photos which can come in handy when building websites. NB: We’re not professional photographers, but we can take good ‘filler’ shots.

The ‘old’ Cobbold Gorge Tours and Accommodation website had a lot of content, but its site plan didn’t showcase this unique property and attraction to its best advantage. It was also outdated in its appearance, not incorporating or representing the current branding of brochures and other sales and marketing materials. We worked closely with Glenda Daly from Cobbold Gorge to get an understanding of their priorities and objectives for the new site. Once we nailed the direction and requirements, we set to work.

The first step is always design. We prepared a creative concept for the new website, which incorporated current branding elements, the new site plan and navigation structure, as well as a selection of fantastic Tourism Queensland imagery and videos. While this was being reviewed, we worked on the written content for the site. This is a big site. We took the current content, updated it and tweaked it to maximise search engine performance of the new site. We also formatted it, to suit the new site design and page layout.

From there, we brought the design and content together into a great new site which is now live www.cobboldgorge.com.au We love the new site, how it looks, presents the information and integrates with an external platform for online bookings. Our customer is happy too, so it’s another great result for RJ New Designs.
