Herberton Mining Museum History Association Inc

RJ New Designs was engaged by the Herberton Mining Museum History Association Inc. (HMMHA) to design and develop a new website to promote the Mining Museum, the works of the HMMHA, the Great Northern Mine Walk and associated trails and tracks. We worked closely with the committee to design and develop a great new website, which we are all thrilled with.

The HMMHA had a clear vision with what they wanted to achieve with the new website. It needed to provide appropriate online representation that engaged potential visitors, as well as the search engines. It needed to clearly define various aspects of operation and work, with an intuitive site plan and navigation structure.

To ensure we had clarity around project parameters, we visited Herberton several times throughout the project. This enabled us to not only have a clear understanding of the HMMA’s requirements, but also to explore and get a first-hand experience with the Museum, its internal and external exhibits, Herberton, its history, the Great Northern Mine and associated walks.

During these visits, which occurred both during and after business hours, we took many photographs and videos of the museum, its volunteers – and HMMA members – and its surroundings. These were used to complement the materials supplied to us during the website’s coding and development.

Fun fact. We love taking photos and clips using our camera, drone and GoPro. While we aren’t professionals, our shots are often used as ‘fillers’ on our websites and help to maximise visual appeal and user engagement.
