Mareeba Heritage Museum & VIC Wanted An Online Refresh

The Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre received funding from the Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant Program to develop and design a new website to promote their centre and Mareeba. They chose RJ New Designs as their preferred website developers and we worked closely with them to create a great new site, on time, on budget and on purpose.

“With the impact of COVID-19 across our small community we looked at the best way to support the critical role we play in promoting tour operators, local businesses, events and general services in Mareeba. This became increasingly difficult when our doors closed for a short period of time however with TTNQ’s matched funding announcement we were encouraged to submit the grant to design a website to ensure visitors know where we are and what to expect. We submitted on the deadline with 91% of the potential funding already awarded and are super surprised and excited to be successful.” – said General Manager, Janet Greenwood.

The Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre already had a website, but it was not branded in appearance and it was outdated in functionality. Our task was to update the design, making it reflect the existing branding and conform to brand guidelines, providing a modern and professional online presence for the centre.

This is actually one of our favourite types of projects! Taking the content and images from an existing site and repacking them to create a fantastic new website. This was a big job, as the website has a lot of pages and content, but we worked closely with the centre manager to ensure the new website delivered on her requirements.

Some of the RJ New Designs services provided in conjunction with this project include: content and project management, image collation and curation, some copy writing (where required), WordPress website design and development and hosting.

The new website provides a professional, online introduction to the Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre and we’re all very pleased with the result.
